Celsius, the former crypto lending platform that filed for bankruptcy in July, has asked the court to return $50 million of the sum it owes to customers. If approved, the money will be returned to Celsius customers who have used their custody program, i.e. they left the funds with Celsius for safekeeping. Thus, the funds are still the clients’ property, and not Celsius’. This is different than those customers who participated in the programs designed for making them money in the long run.

1 min read After having sent $10.5 million to a user by mistake, Crypto.com is now suing that user for not reporting the mistake and going on a shopping spree. In May 2021, Thevamanogari Manivel asked for a $100 refund from the Singapore-based crypto exchange. Instead, she received a lot more money. Crypto.com noticed the mistake after an audit in December 2021. In the meantime, however, Manivel used $1.35 million of the sum to buy a luxury home, in addition to other, undisclosed purchases.

Indian authorities continue the battle against crime in the crypto industry. After going after India’s largest crypto exchange, WazirX, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now investigating another large Indian crypto exchange – CoinSwitch Kuber. According to an unnamed spokesperson who spoke to Reuters, ED has accused CoinSwitch of violating the country’s forex laws. Because of this, the authorities have looked into financial documents and foreign trade data on five CoinSwitch locations.
