Stacy Olive Jarvis’s Biography

Stacy Olive Jarvis is a UK-based journalist, cultural historian and broadcast contributor writing about culture, politics, history and public life. Her work explores the relationships between cultural institutions, political power, international affairs and the ways societies understand and preserve their histories.

Her journalism has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Conversation, Lowy Institute's The Interpreter, The Journal (Ireland), The Strad, Limelight, Inkstick Media, Parterre Box and other international publications. Her work ranges from cultural-policy analysis and international commentary to reported features, historical investigations and interviews. Her research-led journalism has also been syndicated internationally.

Alongside her writing, Stacy is an experienced broadcaster and expert contributor. She has appeared on Monocle Radio's The Globalist and contributed to BBC News and BBC radio programmes, discussing musical history, cultural institutions, artistic freedom and the intersections between culture and politics. She previously worked as a radio presenter and content producer from 2024 to 2026.

Stacy is completing a PhD in Musicology at the University of Birmingham, where her research examines nineteenth-century European musical culture, transnational networks and the development of the piano nocturne. Her work draws extensively on archival research across Britain, Europe, Russia and the United States. She was a finalist for the BBC New Generation Thinkers scheme in 2026.

A classically trained violinist and music historian, Stacy brings specialist knowledge of European cultural history to contemporary debates about arts funding, cultural diplomacy, public institutions, heritage and cultural access.

She is available for commissioned journalism, reported features, opinion and analysis, interviews, expert commentary, broadcast appearances and public speaking engagements.
