Star Rover

Anyone who has heard Jeremy Gustin’s drum work with the (largely) instrumental acts Delicate Steve and with his own Star Rover project knows he can hit kits like a ton of bricks…if each brick in that ton was made of ten brick-like sticks: SKRONK, SPLAP, SPLORK AAHT AAHHT BLOOOT, SPUTZ SPITZA CHUKKUNK CLUNK, TING KATOONG PLAPF, UNKLIK ULK, ZZIP, SHMUZORFT, POFFISSS… (thanks MAD Magazine!).

Star Rover is Will Graefe (guitar/vocals) and Jeremy Gustin (drums/vocals)–two seasoned musicians steeped in NYC’s vibrant indie music scene. Independently, Graefe and Gustin have worked as session and touring musicians with acts including Albert Hammond Jr., Sam Amidon, David Byrne, Delicate Steve, Bill Frisell, Jesse Harris, Kimbra, Landlady, Marc Ribot, Okkervil River, Rubblebucket, Tiago Iorc, and Renata Zeiguer.

A few weeks back, Impose premiered “What Do You Feel,” a collaborative single from Violet Sands & Justin Faust. Now, in relatively short order, the pairing have unveiled a new club mix and remix from Parisian producer Jean Tonique. The remix brings the smoky, James Bond-theme-style track to the dancefloor as Tonique sprinkles his disco magic on the track. Check it out below and stream the original and club mix out now via YouTooCanWoo here. Tags: Jean Tonique, Justin Faust, violet sands
