For most women, anger isn’t an emotion we’re particularly comfortable with. Many of us were raised to believe that women should be kind, quiet and acquiesce to the needs of others. And when we did show anger or frustration, we were often told to calm down, relax or to stop being so difficult. Good girls don’t get mad or loud, remember? As a result, anger can feel like a foreign emotion that we don’t entirely recognize when it starts to bubble up inside us.
