Two central Connecticut hospitals have a new interim leader. Dr. Jeff Finkelstein has been named interim president of Hartford HealthCare’s central region, overseeing both MidState Medical Center in Meriden and The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. He was appointed to the role earlier this year, following the departure of Gary Havican, who has been hired by Long Island, New York-based Catholic Health as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Milford's Waters Corp. has announced a partnership with an international group seeking to examine the intersection of genes and environment when determining who gets diseases such as cancer and autism. The company announced that it will be supporting a consortium of leading research centers from six different countries with chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment and expertise.
