A new study has provided the first evidence that psilocin, the active compound of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), could have a potent longevity effect at the cellular level. The study from Emory University and Baylor College of Medicine found that psilocin treatment given to aged mice extended their cellular lifespan and promoted longevity.
