Study types In our systematic review, we considered randomised clinical trials (RCTs) that involved physical therapy as an intervention for individuals with ALS. We considered data from the first phase of cross-over studies. Quasi-experimental and non-randomised studies were excluded from our analysis. Participants We considered participants of both sexes who had a clinical or probable diagnosis of ALS at any stage of the disease, without any other neurological disease and were aged 18 or above.
