What was your first job as a journalist?
Staff reporter for the Nassau (Five Towns) Herald on Long Island.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have not.
How is social media changing news?
It's allowed anyone to put out information to the world. This is mostly a good thing, because it has widened who can report news.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Allowing your curiosity to explore new things then sharing those with readers.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My senses, of course. Then mostly Google Docs.
Why did you become a journalist?
I get to put my creativity to the test by writing, while also learning new things and speaking with interesting people.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not high school, but college.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
There's a few, but the ones that I've featured in my portfolio stand out the most. Can't pick just one -- they're all different!
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee!
