Local View: A dangerous, slippery slope
As Nebraskans, we might be tempted to think that the rise of physician-assisted suicide in the United States and euthanasia in Canada has little to do with us. Assisted suicide and euthanasia (now euphemistically known as “medical aid in dying”) are legal elsewhere but not here. Not Nebraska. Nebraskans are different.
Shifting Away From Manualism: On Forming Consciences
Near the beginning of Lent each year, it is not uncommon for parishes to print in their bulletins the required penances for the season. Catholics are required to fast and abstain during Lent. By fasting, we mean that we are allowed up to one full meal, and two smaller meals that together do not add up to another full meal. By abstaining from meat, we mean flesh meats, excluding water-dwelling creatures, such as fish, and apparently, muskrat and capybara. Clear?
COVID-19 Vaccines and the Limits of the Conscience Protection
By now, most Catholics are well-aware of the statements from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the USCCB that state that all the current COVID vaccines are morally permissible, but not obligatory. From these documents has arisen a dichotomy of emphasis: the care for the common good versus conscience protection. A number of Catholic institutions, dioceses, and media outlets have emphasized conscience protection at the expense of the common good.
Effect of an Online Reimbursement Application System on Prescribing of Lidocaine 5% Medicated Plaster in the Republic of Ireland
Abstract Background The lidocaine 5% medicated plaster, Versatis®, has one therapeutic indication listed on the Summary of Product Characteristics—symptomatic relief of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) in adults. Increased expenditure on Versatis® suggests that there is considerable off-label use. To support the appropriate use of Versatis®, the Health Service Executive’s Primary Care Reimbursement Service (PCRS) introduced a reimbursement application system for Versatis® from 1 September 2017.
News Huddlines Missing Episodes?
Post by Ian Fryer on Aug 6, 2010 8:54:26 GMT On the way home from the pub the other night I spotted in a bush a large case full of audio cassettes. I'm still trawling through them, but one contains off-air recordings of two 1986 episodes of The News Huddlines. Does anyone know the archive status of the series? It would be one hell of a way to find a bit of missing radio! Post by robincarmody on Aug 11, 2010 18:26:01 GMT Not sure.
