Despite just finishing second in one of the biggest races of the year, the Italian clearly felt victory had been snatched from his and his team-mates’ grasp on lap one of the event on Saturday afternoon, such was the pace they subsequently demonstrated in the #84 Red Bull-supported, Abt-run Huracan GT3.

The 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours has taken a significant twist, with a suspected right-rear suspension issue forcing the #3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing entry into the garage in the 21st hour. The Winward Racing-run machine had been in control of the race since Hour 12, with Daniel Juncadella starting his most-recent stint with a 43-second advantage over the sister Ravenol-branded #80 Mercedes-AMG of Maro Engel.
