Stephen Jemal

Stephen Jemal was born on February 17, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of ten children. A first-generation American, he grew up in a close-knit Sephardic Jewish family where values such as togetherness, hard work, and dedication were deeply emphasized. From a young age, he worked alongside his father and mentor at the family discount store in Spanish Harlem. This early exposure to business provided him with essential lessons and shaped his entrepreneurial spirit.
