Stephen Taylor’s Biography

Stephen Taylor provides regular commentary on Canadian politics and has done so since being one of the first Canadian political bloggers.

The publishing of his political analysis began around the time of the merger of the federal PC Party and Reform Party to create the Conservative Party of Canada, under the political leadership of Stephen Harper.

Around that time, Stephen Taylor was recruited to produce CTV's election website in 2004 and became a regular commentator on Macleans, Canada's oldest running news magazine.

Since then, Taylor's work has been featured on the web and in print in the National Post and the Financial Post, among others.

Taylor joined the Manning Centre in 2006 and continued to publish political analysis and investigated applications of political technology under a fellowship funded by the Centre.

In 2008, he became the Federal Director of the National Citizens Coalition, an organization that was previously led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. At the NCC, it was Taylor's job to build the mainstream right-of-centre political movement.

Stephen Taylor's published work focuses on government accountability, economic freedom, and democratic development.
