Noah’s Archaeology
“And in the seventh month, on the 17 day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.” Gen 8:4 God wants us to choose faith and draw near to Him because we love Him, but He never requires that our faith be baseless. History, science, and logic all offer contributions to a well-grounded faith. Throughout history, God has given us many confidence-building discoveries that reassure us everything we read is His Word is true.
You’re in an abusive relationship with your phone
Imagine a partner who interrupts you dozens of times a day — not for anything important, just to make sure you’re still paying attention. A partner who punishes you with anxiety the moment you try to create distance, then rewards you just often enough to keep you coming back. A funny text. A hit of good news. A partner who has slowly, over years, replaced your ability to think your own thoughts with dependence on this person’s constant input.
America’s Crisis Is Spiritual
by Steve Scott, American Thinker: America’s crisis isn’t primarily about policy. It’s about identity. We have forgotten who we are. A nation that once understood rights as God-given now treats them as government-granted privileges. Our children are taught what to think, not how to think. Our politics has devolved into tribal warfare because we’ve abandoned the moral order that transcends party loyalty. And government expands in direct proportion to our spiritual poverty.

Our children are taught what to think, not how to think. Our politics has devolved into tribal warfare because we’ve abandoned the moral order that transcends party loyalty. Firmness with Love
Our family is adopting a new puppy this week, and I’m already wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. My mind goes back to the last time we had a puppy. One day while picking up cotton stuffing from the crime scene which I call my living room floor, I thought about how to handle our family’s 1-year-old husky puppy. I found the victim: a stuffed toy now chewed and noticeably “less stuffed.” What would you do? Do you respond with firmness or with love? Can the two be blended?
Discovering God's Will
I had just graduated from college. My wife and I were trying to go to a foreign country to serve as missionaries. The only problem was that it was the early ‘90s, and I had to raise $42,000. Our college graciously donated a large sum of money, but I needed to trust God to help me find over thirty grand. It seemed like an impossible dream for a young couple who didn’t know enough people that we could come up with a wide pool of possible sponsors.
Peace Child Legacy
Don Richardson quietly passed away on Dec. 23, 2018. This special man had just received a Lifetime of Service Award. Why was is this great man not a household name? The answer is simply because he preferred to have the glory go to Jesus. Don became a believer at 17 when he trusted Christ for the forgiveness of his sins at a Youth for Christ rally in 1952. He went on to Bible college with his future wife Carol at Prairie Bible College and Wycliffe’s Summer Institute of Linguistics.
Checking in with God
As cooler weather comes upon us and I find myself scraping windshields again, I am reminded of a friend’s advice. He said that I should allow adequate time for my car to warm up. I admit, there is a part of me that wants to jump into the driver’s seat and take off as fast as I can turn the key. A person’s life is much like a car engine. How often do we take time to warm up our “spiritual engine” before heading off into the day?
Tight Rope Faith
“Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1. In 1859 a circus performer named Charles Blondin toured in the United States. He saw Niagara Falls and he wanted to do something no one had ever done before. He wanted to walk across a tightrope to the other side of that waterfall.
Guarding against Worry
“Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but never really gets you anywhere.” Right now as seasons change and government is shifting, we wonder what the future will bring. There is never any lack of things to worry about. We find ourselves concerned about conditions at work, decisions our children make, health problems, or unkind comments from the ones we love. Human nature is quick to worry when our hopes and wants seem to be threatened.
Penny Power
Several years ago, I was traveling between towns for a faraway appointment. Knowing that I wouldn’t get done until late, I pulled into Subway for some fast food. On my way into the restaurant I saw an older gentleman sitting in the passenger side of an SUV with his dog looking out the back window. He looked troubled. After asking to pet the dog, I introduced myself. I searched for a way to strike up a conversation that would allow me to share the hope that can be found in Jesus Christ.

Euro 2020: For this England team, reaching a semi-final is simply not enough
If you could manufacture a situation giving you the best possible set of circumstances to make it through to a major tournament final, there would be a couple of non-negotiables. They would be to play at your home ground in front of a large partisan crowd and to go into the match-of-your-life, undefeated, having not yet conceded a single goal. Sound familiar?
