We Need to Talk About David
I'll nail my colours to the mast right from the start. Up until two weeks ago, I was a fan of David Moyes, despite all the noise surrounding his current tenure, and his past at Everton. The fan base once split 50/50, now the majority want change. I think the marriage is over sadly, and The Friedkin Group should pull the plug on his reign, and the search for a new manager should begin in earnest. So why the change in opinion?
Hello, I posted about 2 years ago on how I purchased a single family home and would have roommates to rent rooms out to. I would like to buy a home in the town that I am currently contracted to work in. I plan on being here for a year, and thought maybe I should try to rent a house to myself if I were to buy one. So I would set up an llc, and then pay rent to the company for my own housing, with the stipend money I receieve every week. Beyond getting into real specific numbers, is this a solid plan?
The Best Beach Totes For Excellent Family Adventures
We care about the recommendations we make. We sometimes (not all the time) use affiliate links to help keep the site running. Learn more about our Gear Review Policy here. Packing for the beach is a chore. Add kids to the mix and it becomes so daunting that it might even be overwhelming enough to not want to go. It’s more than half the battle to even get out the door when you have to think of all the snacks, diapers, toys, sunscreen, towels, etc. that make a beach day run smooth. Enter the Beach Tote.
Elderly man jailed for allegedly beating wife
A 73-year-old Forsyth man was jailed on Aug. 23 after being accused of locking his wife outside their home, then hitting and shoving her. According to the incident report from the Forsyth Police Department, officer Anytwain Rodgers was told by the victim in her home on Sunset Terrace, that her husband, William Robert Limmer, had locked her out of the house, so she had to use the back end of a hammer to break the lock and get back inside.
Hemingway and the Perfect Sentence
Hemingway was known for crafting enticing emotional statements into descriptive sentences that drew you in. He mastered the art of saying more with less — using as few words as necessary, or as many as a moment demanded. His skill was evident in his often attributed one-sentence book, “For sale, baby shoes, never worn.” Some others include: “If people bring so much courage to this world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them.
Quieter Than The Village
It’s easy to write Whistler off as just another touristy money pit. The whole resort is designed to be a moneymaker, and tourism dollars is the only way they know how to do that. If you’ve never been here and just go by the whims of the industry, I wouldn’t blame you for it not being your cup of tea. But then there’s the real Whistler—the one that drew people here in the first place, long before it was an international resort.
10 Customer Loyalty Program Ideas to Thrill Your Customers
Customer loyalty programs are the secret sauce for thriving businesses. At PUG Interactive, we’ve seen firsthand how innovative loyalty strategies can transform customer relationships. But not all loyalty programs are created equal. In this post, we’ll explore 10 customer loyalty program ideas that will truly thrill your customers and keep them coming back for more. 1. Gamified Points System: Level Up Your Loyalty Gamification in loyalty programs transforms customer engagement.
Helinox Unveils the "Play" Series of Backcountry Games
Playing games with your family can be one of life’s great pastimes. And passing time in remote places in nature, many will argue, is the best of all pastimes. However, until now most games were relegated to a deck of cards, and maybe a portable chess board. If you’re bringing a hatchet or axe along, you can add in axe throwing. That was mostly it for family games for a long time.
World of PUG Blog The ROI of Real Engagement: Why Gamification Is No Longer a Nice-to-Have It’s no secret that I feel customer loyalty programs are fundamentally broken. Despite decades of effort, most loyalty strategies today have settled into a dull transactional rhythm—earn, burn, repeat. It’s no wonder American households now juggle 29 different program memberships on average, and most of them gather digital dust.
Where’s the Beef in Portillo’s Loyalty Strategy? Why Going App-less Could Leave Customers Cold
Most loyalty and marketing analysts take the easy road. They wait until a program has either soared to success or crashed in failure before offering their analysis, comfortably playing Monday morning quarterback in the safety of 20/20 hindsight. But that’s not my style. I’m going to go out on a limb—right here, right now—and make a bold prediction about Portillo’s upcoming app-less loyalty program before it even launches.
Do I stay on this unit or go elsewhere?
Sorry, this is long. I am coming off nightshift and I am ranting but needing advice on if I stay in the current MICU, go to a different MICU, or just leave and go elsewhere? Hello good people of reddit I took a dream job in the MICU seven months ago at a level 1 hospital and I am looking for some advice on how to handle the bullying I am receiving on this unit.
Missing the Sweet Spot: How Dunkin’ Rewards Falls Short of Loyalty Perfection
Among the behemoth fast food and coffee chains of the world, loyalty programs have become a vicious battleground where massive corporate investments are made to keep customers returning, driving engagement, and ultimately increasing revenue. But not all loyalty programs are created equal. Some are brilliantly designed, tapping into psychological triggers that make customers feel valued and rewarded for their loyalty.
[Update] Shots Fired at Trump Rally! President Escorted Away by Secret Service ...
President Trump was rushed off stage during a PA Rally by the Secret Service after a series of pops that sounded like gunfire. President Trump appears to have been clipped in the ear, blood evident in photos from the scene. Gunfire appeared to erupt at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania while he was speaking on stage — and he was grazed in the ear, law enforcement said.
'Grok Moving Day ... Is In Process
The new ‘Grok’ is working and populated with data, but we’re still working on some backend stuff and a few moving-day issues. The plan is to go live today, but I wanted to offer a few more updates before that happens. First, we will still be using the DISQUS commenting system at launch. Some things need to happen before we can move to WordPress commenting. You’ll know it when you see it. For those looking to ‘Grok Maine, the all-new MaineGrok page will be live upon launch.
SCOTUS Immunity Decision and Why Barry Obama Should Be Very Worried
The US Supreme Court did something miraculous the other day. You’ll have heard by now. They erased over 240 years of Presidential carte blanche. The once all-powerful, seemingly un-prosecutable office of the president, extended to former Presidents, is no more. SCOTUS Upended it, ended it, undermined it, and put every US President on the hook for potential prosecution. Wait. That’s not what you’re hearing from Democrats or the media. Well, take a moment to screengrab that stuff, then keep reading.
Prosecutor Threatens to Fine Retailer for Reporting Thefts to Police
The Democratic bizzaro world is full of contradictions because it is the natural state. To them, it makes sense when we get results exactly opposite of those advertised. Law and order mean chaos. Prosperity means poverty; transparency means obstruction; unity means division; education creates ignorance; and equity means inequality. A secure border is an open border, and national identity is, well…racist. Their war on drugs made the drug problem worse; the war on poverty has created more poverty.
Build Back Biden Going About as Well as You'd Expect ...
The post-debate Build Back Biden scheme is going about as well as you’d expect. The White House sold the NATO summit as a chance for the world to see that Biden’s still got it, by which they must have meant the thing they’ve been hiding that showed up at the debate a few weeks ago. He’s still got it! And this is a NATO Summit. There is no hope of the Regime hiding behind the cheap, fake, deep, fake label unless, by that, they mean themselves and the guy who is supposed to be running the country.
You Saved Tractor Supply But Can You Save John Deere?
Word broke that Tractor Supply had decided to jump into the slimy, divisive, gender-bending, DEI, Woke, CRT end of the cultural swimming pool. Two weeks later, TC pulled that toe out and promised to stick to the business of being in business. You told them, they listened. Are the folks running John Deere likely to listen, too? @robbystarbuck. @JohnDeere has been one of the most beloved brands by conservative farmers but recently on CEO John May’s watch, they’ve gone woke.
Are We Trapped in a Lie at the End of Which There Is No Justice at All
Have you ever considered the problem we have created for ourselves? We let relativists, humanists, and scientistism strip the world of mystery and meaning beyond what they see. Their vision is the revealed truth. Their words are sacred. Take a breath. Think deeply. Are you really allowed to disagree? Are they not, having infiltrated and unraveled nearly every cultural institution, angry earth-bound gods who brook no dissent?
The New 'Grok Goes Live This Weekend ...
The design team has informed me that everything is ready, and the plan is to move to the newest iteration of The Grok this weekend. Just in time. The old site is not looking so good. We should be on our new footprint and with our new hosting company sometime on Saturday, July 13th. I expect an adjustment process, some tweaks, and fixes, and there are things we’ll need to do after the move. The home page is different from any layout we’ve used previously.
Kuster and Papas Protect Non-Citizen Voting "Rights"
Chip Roy’s Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (HR8281) does this crazy thing. It says what the federal law already says: Non-citizens cannot vote in US elections. They can’t. It’s illegal. But there’s no mechanism to ensure that. HR8281 says you must prove you are a citizen to register and vote. Provide proof. Neither of New Hampshire’s Dem House Critters voted for it. They both voted no.

Justice Sotomayor vs. Sotomayor Justice: No Private Right to Self Defense but It's Okay for Her 'Security' to Shoot a Criminal Outside Her Home
Security stationed outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor was confronted by an armed man presumed to be a carjacker. They shot him. “In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self defense.” — Sotomayor, with the dissent in McDonald https://t.co/qSWVRiY444 — David Harsanyi (@davidharsanyi) July 9, 2024 Sotomayor signed on to Justice Breyer’s dissent in McDonald v. City of Chicago.
Pelosi Channels Phil Jones on Biden: Hide the Decline
Climate Gate insider Phil Jones became famous—not for being a clever scientist working on a complex problem—not exactly. The problem was complex but not scientific. The globe wasn’t warming as they’d said, and he worked behind the scenes to hide the evidence—to hide the decline.
Midweek Memes - The Future Belongs to Those Who Believe In the Beauty of Their ... Memes - Granite Grok
We journey once more into the midweek breach to embrace the meme and nothing but the meme! A hump-day tradition whose burden I assumed but not (perhaps) for very much longer). Nitazakhon might be back to this one soon. We shall see. But enough of this pithy banter. Memes!
Granite Post News is “Part of a Coordinated Effort With Deep Ties to Democratic Political Operatives”
So-called independent web portals keep popping up in New Hampshire. They are well funded with professional staff, but try not to look it because they are actually partisan political fronts pretending to be unbiased, disinterested observers. They want you to trust them. You can’t. They may even say they care about New Hampshire, Live Free or Die! Granite Post News is one of the more recent inventions. Within seconds of clicking the link that hit my inbox, I could tell what this was.
Ruh-Roh - Lithium Vehicle Batteries Leak "Forever Chemicals" Into The Environment - Granite Grok
The past few years have been plagued by all manner of professional fearmongering, not the least of which is the overuse of the term forever chemicals. It is a turn of phrase that popped up at the same time the enviro-radicals were looking for a way to reduce water consumption. Cleaning water is carbon intensive and emits things the Climate cult insists are dooming the world. None of that is true, but that’s their Modus Operandi for everything, including fossil fuels and your lifestyle.
This Might Make You Mad
For all the deniers out there who insisted the US government, under Joe Biden, wasn’t running a human conveyor belt operation from Central America into the American heartland, this is for you. Not only are they doing it, but they admit it, have set up offices in foreign countries to make it easier, and they are bragging about it.
How to Neuter Them Gently (or not) On Early Hyper-Hurricane Season Narratives
Hurricane Beryl came on strong, degraded to a tropical storm, and then managed to get back to CAT 1 before it hugged the Texas Coast. Landfall Hurricane! The Climate Cult can’t help itself. Global Warming, Global Warming. Really? Global? Let’s take a look at that. As a reminder, everyone, including us, expects a nasty Atlantic hurricane season this year. Accumulated cyclonic energy, hurricane landfalls, it’s all been on the down low in the Atlantic for too long and we are due. No matter.
The Sock Puppet Presidency
One of the many questions following Joe Biden’s “poor” performance in the presidential debate has been with whom the Democrats shall replace him. Or how about, who is fighting to keep Biden in the race, what donors are doing, what the base thinks (will this fracture the party or get independents off the fence), and, most importantly, who is playing as Chief Executive? It is not Joe.
Libraries Ban Children so They Can Keep the Naughty Books
Libraries in Utah are responding to a new law that would fine staff for allowing kids to access inappropriate material by banning children. “Legislation passed by conservative lawmakers allows parents to sue libraries for books they deem obscene or otherwise inappropriate.” Rather than remove any inappropriate content, they are banning children instead. Here’s the Library line.
DEMbargo - Wealthy Left-Wing Donros Revolt: No Money Until Biden is Replaced
The battle over Biden continues as a small cadre of insiders circle the wagons to protect their political sugar daddy. The insiders aren’t interested in what’s good for the nation, and the outsiders aren’t either; they don’t want Trump to win and are convinced that Biden 2024 is the best thing to happen to Trump since Hillary Clinton. To prevent that they are prepared to hold the checks and stop the fundraisers.
The Commies Come Out to "Save" France from A Brush With Sanity
So-called moderate French President Macron went to bed with the Communists to stay in power, and after Today’s second set of “snap” elections, he appears to have succeeded. In a disappointing result, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally (RN), which won the first round of voting last week, was relegated to third place, with between 132 to 152 seats. Finally, the centre-right Les Républicains are projected to have won between 57 to 67 seats, Le Figaro reports.
Were UK Elections a Win For Europe's Political Left?
The machine media has been quick to suggest that this week’s massive Labour victory in the UK Elections is the emissions reduction we were looking for to cool Europe’s heated-up right-wing uprising. It looks like that, and they’ll keep trying to sell it; just don’t read the not-so-fine print. Here’s the machine media response you’ll find up and down the fake fourth-column food chain.
CBS News Isn't Building Planes But Their Diversity Hires Continue To Crash and Burn
CBS has a long and storied history of fake and slanted news. It’s in their DNA. They’ve also got some experience hiding sexual harassment complaints, so why not take the leap into discriminatory racial hiring practices? “CBS decided that there were too many white males at CBS, and it acted accordingly. It needed to solve its ‘white problem’ by firing successful white males,” the complaint alleged. CBS declined to comment.
AFP - July 6th 2023 - Joe Biden Will Defeat Donald Trump if He is the GOP Nominee
From the look what I found pile. It’s one of those glossy campaign flyers everyone throws away without looking at them. Not everyone. I like to see what the monied interests are advocating or opposing, and this one, which hit my mailbox a year ago today, was from Americans for Prosperity Action. If you were wondering, I did not have this lying around with a dog-eared, faded, canary-yellow Post-it with a July 6th, 2023 scribble. My handwriting is terrible, so I’d never have been able to read it.
Big Tech Conundrum: It Can't Have A.I. and Reduce "Emissions"
Artificial Intelligence is all the rage, but its pursuit—and that of profits—has created a problem. You don’t birth digital consciousness out of nothing. Even the most basic AI requires a lot of electricity, and the more powerful the system is, the more users call upon it and the more significant the “emissions” needed to keep it operating. Researchers have been raising general alarms about AI’s hefty energy requirements over the past few months.
Night Cap: Industry Fraud Brings Down Boeing Planes
Recurrent airline accidents involving Boeing jets have triggered both public alarm and government scrutiny. Despite assurances that manufacturing safeguards would be improved following two high-profile Boeing plane accidents in 2018 and 2019 that caused the deaths of 346 people, recent whistleblower revelations of a “broken safety culture” at the company have prompted ire from federal regulators.
Gender Surgery Actually Increases The Risk of Suicide
One of the justifications for neutering human beings made dysphoric by a relentless cabal of partisans is that it will reduce the odds they might commit suicide. Strangely, these same people never considered how much lower suicidal ideation was in kids before they started inundating them with confusing gender propaganda. Think about that.
Looking for Disinformation? The Government is The Best Place to Start
We have a Catbird in our yard this year. It’s a pretty thing. It is a dynamic flier and a fast hopper. It almost looks like it is running across the ground (roadrunner style), but its most distinctive quality is that it never shuts the hell up. https://granitegrok.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Cat-Bird-Call.mp3 Listen to the Catbird (0:22) It is a very chatty bird, and while its ‘song’ is complex (diverse?) and even beautiful, it never seems to stop.
The World Refuses to End and Other Misc. Business
On the 2018 Summer Solstice, a climate witch predicted humanity’s doom if “we” did not stop using fossil fuels in the next five years. June 21st, 2024, has come and gone, and while we may still be doomed six years later, it is not because of fossil fuels. The people trying to force us off them are more likely to end us. In related news, Joseph R. Biden’s 2020 platform for President included a plank ending fossil fuel use. So, how are those plans working out?
For The Good of The Country, It is Time to Invoke the 25th Amendment
To the Maine Congressional Delegation: For the good of the Country, I respectfully request that you, individually and collectively, move forward or co-sponsor legislation that invokes the 25th Amendment with the subsequent removal from office of President Joe Biden. It is regrettable to request this action, but the circumstances of last week, namely his performance in the presidential debate, have caused me great alarm for the safety of our County and the President himself.
Midweek Memes - Ask Not What Memes Can Do for You, But What You Can do for Memes
The midweek memeage continues with another round of memes. That’s it: no side dishes, no appetizers, just memes, memes, and more of those damn memes. As always, these are (need I remind you) just memes. Some are intuitive, others offensive, some are funny, others not, and that’s just how memes are – “memes.” So, ask not what memes can do for you but what you can do for memes. Share them. That’s what you can do! Share the link to these. We appreciate it.
Harvard Study Finds EV Charging Infrastructure is Ureliable - Including Home Chargers
Harvard Business School (HBS) researchers, yes, THAT Harvard, have found that “Electric vehicle (EV) chargers have a high malfunction rate” and that “EV drivers can expect non-residential charging systems to not work approximately 20% of the time.” The HBS study used artificial intelligence to examine more than one million customer reviews of charging stations from North America, Europe and Asia over 10 years, finding that EV drivers can expect non-residential charging systems to not work...
Things That Work…
…and things that don’t.
Hey! Teachers! Leave Those Kids Alone!
The barely Republican-majority New Hampshire legislature managed to pass a pair of bills that unequivocally protect children from abuse. One suggests that it is unhealthy and dangerous to give children (hormone) drugs linked to a rise in the incidence of heart attack and stroke (and that neutering them might not be in their best interest). The other acknowledges that men are stronger than women and allowing them to compete athletically side by side is dangerous to women and girls.
Don't Let Them Reimagine What Happened on That Debate Stage
The infinite number of progressive (AI?) monkeys are banging away on their endless number of virtual typewriters (some of whom are still tasked with the regime’s censorship duties in the digital dungeons at Menlo Park and Mountain View) to explain away or erase what happened last Thursday. Don’t let them. We need to keep that truth alive in the minds of Americans if we can, and that’s what the latest Trump Ad below attempts to do, I think. It is a public service reminder.
Fossil Fuel Companies Won't PAY for "Climate Change"
Vermont has just done something hailed by Climateers as groundbreaking and memorialized by The Week with the headline: ‘Vermont becomes first state to make fossil fuel companies pay for climate change.’ Really? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. They haven’t done anything but pass a bill (S.259). They have no idea how they will execute it, or if they can, what it will look like, and how much … you get the idea.
Breaking: SCOTUS Decision Drops on Trump Presidential Immunity ...
The Democrats broke new ground when the White House coordinated with DAs and DOJ to bring multiple prosecutions against former president and current Candidate Donald Trump. When asked about Constitutionality, SCOTUS responded with a decidedly constitutional response. Emphasis, mine. A federal grand jury indicted former President Donald J. Trump on four counts for conduct that occurred during his Presidency following the November 2020 election.
