I started my journalism career in 1992 as a science writer at the Los Alamos Monitor, a daily newspaper, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998 to start covering the computer industry for CNET News. Over the years, I've been the beat reporter for Google, supercomputers, web technology. Other interests include digital photography, AI, authentication, microprocessor developments, wireless networking, energy grid, and believe it or not, birds.
