In late June DCCEEW released draft Guidance in relation to regulating the offshore sequestration of CO₂ under the Environment Protection (Sea Dumping) Act 1981 (Cth) (Sea Dumping Act). It is recognised that CCS has an important role to play in decarbonizing hard to abate industrial sectors and reducing emissions of major energy emitters such as LNG projects.
