Study Area The Tamil Nadu coastline is situated on the southeastern region of the Indian Peninsula, comprising a segment of the Coromandel Coast that borders the Bay of Bengal in the east, the Indian Ocean in the south, and the Arabian Sea in the west. With a length of 1076 km, this coastline ranks second-longest in the country, after Gujarat.

1. Introduction Climate change is the long-term, progressive alteration of local weather patterns and temperature. Global temperatures have increased as a result, which has caused sea levels to rise, oceans to warm and become more acidic, and more extreme weather patterns [1,2]. As temperatures increase, climate extremes are anticipated to become more frequent and severe, according to Pendergrass et al. [3], Wehner [4], and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 2021) (Allan et al. [5]).
