Balancing safety and efficacy remains a major challenge for the drugs having a narrow therapeutic index, such as magnesium sulphate, the drug of choice for prevention and treatment of eclampsia.1 The interesting review by Duffy et al.2 prompted us to explore the serious adverse reactions of magnesium sulphate, which is partly addressed, especially in supplementary table S2.
