Das Pilotprojekt betrifft zunächst das College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, an dem rund die Hälfte der etwa 8000 Studienanfänger der Universität eingeschrieben ist. Wie das Wall Street Journal berichtete, sollen sie dadurch mehr Zeit bekommen, sich an den Hochschulalltag zu gewöhnen und Kurse stärker nach persönlichen Interessen auszuwählen. Professoren vergeben weiterhin Noten Ganz verschwinden die klassischen Bewertungen allerdings nicht.

I am remarkably outraged by the events detailed by University President Santa Ono on March 27, but I can’t say that I am surprised. It is fair to say that most of us wish that someone would bend backward for us the way this University did for President Donald Trump’s administration. Diversity, equity and inclusion are meant to uplift those constantly underrepresented and overlooked, giving them a fighting chance to equally impact the world while being just as qualified.
