Nagpur: For final-year students at Gondwana University (GU), failing a paper will no longer necessarily mean waiting months for another attempt. They can appear for a second examination shortly after the declaration of the Summer-2026 results, an initiative taken by the university to prevent loss of an academic year for students because of one or more failed subjects. GU, which was carved out of Nagpur University, traditionally conducts summer and winter examinations.

Nagpur: A performance at the newly renovated Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in Civil Lines was interrupted on Saturday (Aug 22) when water began dripping on the audience during a play, raising questions over the quality of waterproofing at the cultural landmark, which underwent a ₹6.3 crore facelift just months ago. The hall was renovated by the Public Works Department (PWD) and reopened in April.

Nagpur: Taking note of students’ complaints over the misuse of its specialised badminton court, RTM Nagpur University (RTMNU) has decided to restrict Subhedar Hall near Law College Square to badminton and table tennis matches. The decision came after students raised concerns on Monday morning over the condition of the hall following a kickboxing tournament held there on Sunday night.
