Gujarat State has made progress in the area of economic empowerment of rural women, with more than 5.96 lakh women getting identified as "Lakhpati Didis" under the rural livelihood project of the Government of India. Launched under the aegis of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), the scheme seeks to enable women involved with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to earn a yearly household income above ₹1 lakh.

The Odisha Cabinet has approved a project to establish hostel facility for women workers in the Kalibeti industrial zone of Khurda district, weaving a new opportunity of growth. The decision aims at providing safe and proper housing facilities for women working in the textile sector. The initiative is seen as part of the state’s effort towards inclusive development in the textile industry.

Recognizing the emerging importance of women in the renewable energy business, Anjali Kamat, Head-Business Operations at GRK Enterprises, received the ‘Women-driven Solar Business Excellence Award' in the Goa Energy Excellence Awards 2026. This recognition comes in celebration of her excellent leadership in the Solar Energy field.
