Susan Dalgety’s Biography
I am a columnist for the Scotsman, Scotland's national newspaper, where I write about women, politics, the world. I am also a contributor to The Spectator and my first book The Spirit of Malawi was published in February 2021 by Luath Press.
I have been a staffer on the Edinburgh Evening News, done comms for the Scottish Labour Party and Jack McConnell when he was First Minister of Scotland. I edited Scotland's foremost community newspaper - the Wester Hailes Sentinel - for a decade and since 2005 I have been visiting Malawi for work and pleasure - hence the book.
I travel a lot with my husband, - 2017 in Europe, 2018 in the USA and 2019 living in Malawi. 2020 was spent in my home office, who knows what 2021 will bring.
