What was your first job as a journalist?

Writing adapting ranching practices to overcome the "new" drought conditions in the late 1980s for the US Soil Conservation Service

Yes

Why did you become a journalist?

I always felt I had something to share with others, whether the environment, technology, or travel.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My biggest accomplishment was writing The Ecology of War in the early 1990s, which significantly changed US military policy.

What's your favorite drink?

Bubbles. Sparkling wine. Because there is never a bad time for bubbles.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Traveling around the US in our Jayco Northpoint Fifth-Wheel trailer or jetting somewhere to explore something new.
