Susie Cagle is a staff writer and illustrator at Grist. She has written and drawn from police riots, crisis pregnancy centers, failed cities, ecological disasters, and other fun places. She's worked with the Atlantic, the Guardian, Boston Review, Alternet, American Prospect, Truthout, Campus Progress, the Awl, the Rumpus, McSweeney’s, the Bay Citizen, and many other fine publications. Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, BoingBoing, Jezebel, Feministing, the Huffington Post and others, and she’s received honors from SPJ, the SF Bay Guardian and SF Weekly. Susie has a masters in journalism from Columbia, which still doesn’t offer a cartooning class. And she's only been arrested twice while reporting.
