“The opposite of faith is not fear, it’s control.” Read that on a neighbor’s Facebook page several weeks ago and have been percolating on it since. “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,” is how I want to respond to that statement for some reason. Anyway, is the lack of forgiveness in our lives, self-forgiveness, or otherwise, a misguided effort on our parts to control the uncontrollable? Where am I heading by leading with that quote?

​I believe I’ve written about fundamentals on this platform before, but it bears repeating. Here’s the thing: Fundamentals always bear repeating, it’s just that ego and complacency seduce us into believing we’re beyond certain things. Saccharine that Kool-Aid is. So good until your dentist informs you of a mouth full of cavities. A meditational view of life tells us where we need to circle back to reevaluate our values. “Meditational view” in this context sounds so clinical—so easy.

“Gratitude is the Grace that lets God grow in your life.” – LeVar Burton So, I’ve had all these experiences, and seen all these things, but what does that get me?Let’s endeavor to make the statement, “I know what I know,” a part of your spirit of living—your zest for the flavor of life. It’s been a while since I went full esoteric on your a$$es, so buckle up, and try to follow along in your hymnals. Remember it may sound nonsensical, but does it feel that way?
