First record of Risso's dolphin Grampus griseus (Cuvier, 1812) in Icelandic waters

The Risso's dolphin Grampus griseus (Cuvier 1812) is widely distributed in tropical and temperate waters of both the north and south hemispheres (Baird, 2009). In the North Atlantic Ocean, Risso's dolphins have been observed from the equator to as far north as 64° N (Bolch et al., 2012; Jefferson et al., 2014). In recent years observations at 69° N latitude in coastal northern Norway have been regular (Alexander Eckerle, personal communication; Figure 1).
