CELEBRITIES Susan Whitall Special to The Detroit News View Comments Darlynn Bonner John, widow of music legend Little Willie John and a longtime resident of Detroit, died Sept. 21 in hospice care in Taylor, Michigan. She was 92. Her husband, William Edward “Little Willie” John, died in 1968. She never remarried. As Willie John’s wife, the soft-spoken Darlynn moved in heady circles —singer Dinah Washington dubbed her “Little One,” and wouldn’t allow anyone to swear around her.
