Steve Wright’s Biography
Steve Wright is a gay, tech-minded, video game enthusiast, hockey player and fan, journalist, and communications expert.
He was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and has called Melbourne, Victoria, Australia his home for more than twenty-five years.
He started his first website, Stevivor.com, back in 2000 ahead of what was meant to be a three-month working holiday in Australia. He eventually decided to emigrate, and what started as a travel blog soon became the country’s leading independent video games outlet. ‘Stevivor’ is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland.
Steve has since gone on to design websites for a variety of friends and clients, including Nicholes Family Lawyers, the Braves Ice Hockey Club, Murray Waldren Consulting, and through his day job for businesses including COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria.
He has put his writing to good use for a variety of publications, now gathered in a personal portfolio on swright.au.
He also adores Star Trek, helping to cover video games about the long-running franchise on TrekMovie.com.
He is married to Matt, has cat children in Wally and Quinn, and tries to keep fit through running.
