Sydney Lewis is a sophomore journalism major at the University of Missouri.

She is currently the Managing Editor of The Maneater, MU's student newspaper. Previously, she was the Assistant Opinions Editor, a columnist, and a reporter. As Managing Editor, she oversees an editorial board of 20 editors and a staff of over 100 writers, photographers, and graphic designers.

Why did you become a journalist?

With a history of advocacy and writing, journalism is the perfect opportunity for me to combine those two passions.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

As Editor-in-Chief of The Eyrie, I oversaw a website, senior issue, literary magazine and news magazine.
