What does this paper contributes to the wider global clinical community? ○ This review showed that exergaming improves depressive symptoms in older adults with dementia, showing a large effect size in the meta-analysis of four RCTs. Yet, a moderate-to-severe risk of bias was found. ○ Successful exergaming interventions included simultaneous motor-cognitive training, a scoring mechanism, and social play, highlighting their importance in therapeutic settings.
