Atom camera: super-resolution scanning microscope of a light pattern with a single ultracold atom
Abstract Sub-micrometer light patterns play a pivotal role in biology, biophysics, and AMO physics, yet their in situ characterization is limited in spatial resolution and sensitivity. Here, we present an atom camera with a single ultracold atom in an optical tweezer as a scanning probe. Measuring the energy shift on the spin states with the long coherence time and polarization-sensitive transitions yields highly sensitive, high-resolution 2D imaging of both intensity and polarization ellipticity.
Effectiveness of inhibitors to prevent asphaltene aggregation: Insights from atomistic and molecular simulations
Topics Molecular simulations, Water model, Density functional theory, Molecular dynamics, Asphaltene, Ionic liquids, Deep eutectic solvents, Viscosity Asphaltenes are a class of compounds constituting the heaviest and most polar components present in crude oil and are differentiated from the rest of its constituents (i.e., saturates, aromatics, and resins) by their solubility in aromatic solvents, such as toluene, and insolubility in aliphatic organics, such as n-hexane or n-heptane.1 This...
Effect of influenza vaccine subsidies for older adults on vaccination coverage and mortality before and during the COVID-19 pandemic: an ecological study in Japan
Public Health Volume 224, November 2023, Pages 152-158 Under a Creative Commons license open access Keywords Influenza vaccine Subsidy Mortality Zero-price effect COVID-19 In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, influenza prevention became more critical to avoid concurrent outbreaks of the two diseases.
Correlative light-electron microscopy: integrating dynamics to structure
Under a Creative Commons license open access Keywords CLEM structural biology EM fluorescence cryo-EM Download : Download high-res image (484KB) Download : Download full-size image A challenge of classical electron microscopy (EM) modalities is the static and limited view they present of dynamic biological processes. Correlative light and EM (CLEM) pairs the precise imaging of the cellular location in light microscopy (LM) and EM, taking advantage of both methods.

Induction of humoral and cellular immune response to hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccine can be upregulated by CpG oligonucleotides complexed with Dectin-1 ligand - Ito - 2016 - Journal of Viral Hepatitis - Wiley Online Library
A persistent hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is characterized by a lack of or a weak immune response to HBV, which may be reflective of tolerance to HBV. Efficient induction of HBV-specific immune response leads to the clearance of HBV in patients with a chronic HBV infection. CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODN) has a powerful adjuvant effect in HBV vaccination.
