1 Introduction Over the past several decades, the prevalence of asthma, allergic disease, and atopy has increased significantly worldwide (1). Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are commonly found in the environment. They are derived from industrial and agricultural sources, including pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, and other chemicals used in the plastics industry.
