Abstract Introduction Quetiapine has a three-ringed chemical structure similar to that of tricyclic antidepressants (TCA). Several electrocardiogram (ECG) findings, including prolonged QRS intervals, high R wave amplitude (tall RaVR), large R-wave/S-wave ratio (large R/S) in lead aVR, and deep S waves in lead I (deep S in I), correlate with severe TCA poisoning outcomes.

A case of fenitrothion self-poisoning with prolonged clinical features

Abstract Background Organophosphorus compounds cause toxicity, typically within a few hours following oral exposure, by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. We report a case of fenitrothion ingestion with delayed onset of severe muscarinic symptoms. Case report A 56-year-old male was brought to our hospital complaining of dizziness and nausea 13 h after ingesting 250 mL of 50% fenitrothion.

Impact of increased reimbursement for ambulance transportation on hospital acceptance in Japan: a difference-in-difference study

Findings obtained before and after the increase in the reimbursement for ambulance transportation acceptance Using the standard procedure for DID analysis, we graphically checked the trends of the main outcomes before and after the increase in reimbursement for ambulance transportation acceptance. Figure 1A shows the results for the number of transports per 1000 population. In this figure, the number of transports was standardised by the average value of each group for clarity.
