1 Introduction Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common childhood cancer accounting for ~25% of all cancer diagnoses (1). Adult ALL is much less common, accounting for only 0.3% of all new cancer cases (2). In ALL, lymphocytes cease development as lymphoblasts and begin to rapidly proliferate. These lymphoblasts overwhelm the patient’s bone marrow, crowding the remaining healthy cells and lead to patients experiencing anemia, infections and thrombocytopenia (3).
