SUDBURY -- Sudbury police say they arrested a man who allegedly threatened another man with a knife on Tuesday afternoon. In a twitter message, Sudbury police alerted the public to a heavy police presence in the area of Lasalle Boulevard and Barrydowne Road on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. According to police, a 20-year-old man allegedly threatened another man with a knife in the parking lot of a New Sudbury LCBO store.

The Ontario Provincial Police North Bay and Almaguin Highlands detachments are investigating three suspicious fires reported between April 13 and 15. In a media release, police say two of the fires occurred on Granite Hill Road in the Township of Nipissing and the third was located on Rye Road in Machar Township. The fires are thought to have occurred sometime between March 14 and April 12.
