Abstract Azadirachta indica (Neem) is well-known for its therapeutic potential against bacteria, while Staphylococcus saprophyticus and Citrobacter koseri are significant public health threats due to their potential to cause skin infections. This study aims to identify phytocompounds from the methanolic extract of A. indica leaves and evaluate their efficacy to inhibit those bacteria through in vitro and computational approaches.

2. Materials and methods A brief illustration of the methodology of our research work is depicted in Fig 1. 2.1.1 Selection of the target protein. The aminoacyltransferase FemA of Staphylococcus aureus was selected as the target protein (Uniprot ID: P0A0A5) from the databank of proteins (PDB) (https://www.rcsb.org/) based on its functional role in the survival of the pathogen [9,32].
