Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is listed as the 57th-best in the 247Sports Composite. This isn't what the Seminole faithful want from their favorite team, but that is the reality of where the program is in rough shape, with a combined 7-17 record over the last two seasons. The negative impact of recruiting these talented prospects is whether or not head coach Mike Norvell will be employed for the 2027 season.

Florida State had a small group of three visitors this weekend on campus with three-star safety commit Jemari Foreman, three-star defensive end Stevan Thornton III, and three-star linebacker CJ Ohuabunwa. I wrote in a recent piece how important it was that the Seminoles went 3/3 during the final official visit weekend. Head coach Mike Norvell has been dealt a tough set of circumstances, as Florida State football has struggled on the gridiron.

Florida State's 2027 recruiting class still has plenty of work to do, as they rank outside the top-50 even with the additions of some pretty important prospects. The elephant in the room is the job security of head coach Mike Norvell. The administration had to know that this could be the case when they elected to retain him for the 2026 season.
