Mental health of health professionals and their perspectives on mental health services in a conflict-affected setting: a qualitative study in health centres in the Gaza Strip during the COVID-19 pandemic

The analysis showed that the health staff perceived four main strengths of the MHPSS programme: the multiple success stories, positive personal impact, adapting and reducing resistance and signposting. Three themes were identified in regard to the reported difficulties that were perceived as significant challenges to the programme: societal stigma, economic problems faced by the patients and societal gender roles, as well as feelings of inadequate knowledge and skills.
