What was your first job as a journalist?
Answering the phones on local radio!
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Mikael Blomkvist, the main character of Stieg Larsson's award-winning Millennium series.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
A phone so I can contact people and invite them on the radio! Plus BBC's own audio editing software (dira Startrack/Highlander)
What's your favorite social network?
Professionally, still Twitter/ X - for better or worse, journos are still there. Personally, Instagram.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Work hard, be humble, and don't take no for an answer.
What's your favorite drink?
Tea. Black with a dash of (oat) milk.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Any outlet that gives me clarity about the messy world that we live in (like The Economist or Foreign Affairs)
