Her post-operative recovery was uncomplicated and she was discharged home. During her re-presentation, her observations and laboratory markers were within normal limits, however she was profoundly tender in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen with rebound tenderness.

Survival in borderline resectable and locally advanced pancreatic cancer is determined by the duration and response of neoadjuvant therapy
Abstract Background Pancreatic cancer is the 8th commonest cancer and the 5th commonest cause of cancer-related death in Australia, with a 9% average 5-year survival. This study aims to investigate the effects of neoadjuvant treatment on overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) in borderline resectable (BRPC) and locally advanced (LAPC) pancreatic adenocarcinoma followed by curative resection.

Methods Matched cancer and non-cancer fresh frozen tissues were prospectively collected from 70 patients (35 men and 35 women) who underwent resection of colorectal adenocarcinoma. These tissues collected were extracted for miR and complementary DNA conversion.

Upgrading BDX Before Results Announcement
Becton, Dickinson (NYSE:BDX) is due to announce their third quarter results on the 6th of August 2015 before the market opens at 8am. Since my initiation report on BDX on the 6th of May 2015, the share is already up 7.8% just about 3% off my target price of $157.34 in the initiation report. Management has recently announced their intention to spin off their V.Mueller instruments surgical business following their acquisition of CareFusion which according to estimates should fetch about $500mn.
MasterCard's Transformation Story
VISA (NYSE:V) has had a dominant position in the industry for a long time. According to research by The Nielsen Report, V grabbed the lion's share of purchase transactions worldwide at 58% over MasterCard's (NYSE:MA) 26%. MA has turned the heat on V with notable wins over their closest rival. The Nielsen Report found that whilst V grew by 10.1% in 2014, MA grew at a slightly faster pace, at 13.6%. MA also added more cards last year versus V.
Visa To China - Visa Inc. (NYSE:V)
Visa (NYSE:V) announced their results on the 23rd of July 2015, which leaves plenty for the Street to cheer. Referring to the key business metrics below, key network total spending volume was higher by about 0.6% vs. last year. The total number of transactions has also been up strongly in the last four quarters. Of concern to investors should be the slowdown in total spending volume growth which continued to show slower growth, dragged down by slower European spending.
Dangdang's Ill Informed Move
Dangdang (NYSE:DANG) received a buyout offer of $7.812 per ADS led by the Chairwoman Peggy Yu and Chief Executive Officer (NYSE:CEO) Guoqing Li. Together, they own 39.5% of the company's shares but have 83.5% of the voting power due to the dual-class share structure. This purchase would be funded by a combination of debt and equity but has been met with massive outrage from shareholders who feel they have been taken for a ride by the management.
Rapid7 Initiation Report
Rapid7 Inc. (NASDAQ:RPD) launched its IPO on the 17th of July 2015 which saw strong interest. It hit a high of $27.45 before closing at $25.28, 58% above the IPO price of $16. This was raised from the earlier indicated range of $13-$15. The closing price gave them a market capitalization of around $955 million, just shy of the $1 billion mark. I initiate with a Strong Buy on clear visible growth prospects and under-valuation. RPD provides security data and analytics solutions.
Palo Alto Networks: Transitioning Toward A One-Stop Service
Palo Alto Networks (NYSE:PANW) has seen a rise in the number of new subscriptions and customers over the past year, and this is set to continue growing. According to research from IDC, Enterprise Endpoint Security is expected to hit $5.4bn in 2018, up from $4.2bn last year. Enterprise Network Security is expected to go up to $14.1bn by 2018 from last year's $10.7bn, representing a total CAGR of 7%. The company is building an all under one-roof service.
Facebook: New Ventures Set To Take Off
At a two-thirds discount to peers based on the EV/EBITDA (TTM) valuation methodology, Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is trading at a steep discount to peers. Given strong advertising revenue and track record, the discount is unjustified in my view. Consistent with their message since acquiring Whatsapp last year, Facebook is unlikely to be in a rush to monetize their acquisition of Whatsapp. I think their first priority is to grow the number of users of the app and grow rapidly they did.
OnDeck Capital Initiation Report
P2P lending grew in prominence post-GFC after banks tightened their lending rules resulting in lending becoming difficult. The rise of P2P lending however, is not without its challenges. OnDeck Capital (ONDK:NYSE) is an online alternative small business lender. The key distinction between ONDK with Lending Club (NYSE:LC) is that while LC is focused on peer to peer lending, ONDK focuses specifically on helping small businesses.
Lending Club Initiation Report
Lending Club (NYSE:LC) is the world's largest online marketplace connecting borrowers and investors. They have set out to transform the banking system to make credit more affordable. Their main distinct advantage is their ability to operate at a lower cost than traditional bank lending and pass the savings on to borrowers in the form of lower rates and to investors in the form of returns.
Alibaba: Sell On Integration Issues
Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) announced on June 30th their intention to buy a stake in India's Paytm. This move will expand their outreach to a fast-growing country (according to IMF forecasts, GDP is forecasted to grow at 7.5% for 2015 and 2016) and expand their outreach for financial services payments. There are near-term headwinds from Alibaba's move to acquire companies, that of integration with the rest of Alibaba's operations. Short Alibaba on near-term headwinds.
Monsanto: Neutral On Overvaluation And Lowered Q4 Outlook
Monsanto (NYSE:MON) is amongst the world's leading companies in the production of seeds, crop chemicals, and related biotechnology products in the agriculture space. Its Seed & Genomics segment produces seeds and biotechnology traits, and provides services sold directly to growers and other licensed companies. The Holden's unit develops germplasm for breeding of traditional and new seed varieties.
JD.com Initiation Report
I initiate coverage on JD.com (NASDAQ: JD) with a Buy and target price of $40, representing 5x of sales on the above factors. It is inevitable that JD.com will be compared with their more illustrious counterpart Alibaba (NYSE: BABA). Despite this, JD.com differentiates itself with a strong focus on product quality and in-house logistic capability.
Continued Drag On Las Vegas Sands
Much ink has been spilled regarding China's anti-graft campaign that has resulted in an 18% price correction YTD across the entire sector. The problem with most of the analysis on gaming stocks is the focus on how it only affects the VIP market, since the HNWIs do not want to be seen in Macau. The impact, however, has been felt in the mass market segment as well, impacting the overall Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR).
FireEye: Reason To Be Cautious Despite Explosive Growth
The traditional approach of protecting our computers and networks against malware has largely remained constant for more than 20 years now. Consumers have been relying mainly on antivirus software that are efficient in protecting against known viruses, but that are completely vulnerable to unknown attacks. FireEye (NASDAQ:FEYE) is attempting to plug the gap against modern-day malware.
CyberArk: A Pure Cyber Security Play
