A landmark destination restaurant in Northeast Florida has closed after 25 years in St. Augustine. Murray Bros. Caddyshack, the World Golf Village restaurant founded by legendary comedic actor Billy Murray and his brothers, served its final customers on Saturday, June 27, according to a Facebook post from Andy Murray. The restaurant built its identity around golf, the 1980 film “Caddyshack” and the Murray family’s brand of humor. No reason for the shutdown was given publicly.

Man killed, another wounded in shooting at Jacksonville gathering

Jacksonville police said one man died and another was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries when gunfire erupted at a large gathering in a Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood. The double shooting happened about 1 a.m. Sunday, June 28, in the 1700 block of West 11th Street between Grunthal and Fairfax streets, Sheriff's Office Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said. Dispatch received several 911 calls about the shooting. The men, both 20 to 30 years old, have not been identified.
