Discussion In this cost comparison analysis, we aimed to investigate how the use of EIP versus CII affected costs and nursing time across different infection treatment strategies in both inpatient and outpatient care, including the transition between these care types. Our results showed that outpatient care at home had significantly lower total costs compared with outpatient care posthospital discharge or complete inpatient care.
