It feels like ages since I’ve been to an immersive show so I was delighted to be invited by Colab Theatre to review their latest production The End. Now, as this is an immersive production I am limited in what I can tell you of the synopsis and what happens once you enter. So, here is the information from the Colab website: The End at Colab Theatre The world outside is lost — the husks roam, the darkness is spreading and every choice means life or death.

Imagine your worst fear has come true and the world is going to hell in a handcart with a deadly virus that spreads so fast it is impossible to keep up with. In desperation, you would try to find somewhere to escape the prospect of being infected. Actually, we had all that a few years ago with the Covid epidemic. But, bad as that was, imagine something even deadlier was coming, and you had to hide yourself away for potentially a long time. Would you be able to do it and cope?

There was a time, and not that long ago in real terms, when being gay was not only illegal but carried the death penalty. Yet people were and some even went so far as to form relationships. Fraught with danger they may have been, but they happened, and today they are fairly mainstream. But what of the future? Wouldn’t it be good to be able to see how attitudes towards ‘non-normal’ relationships have changed in the far future and compare them to the past?
