In this fourth issue of 2026, Music Education Research has 9 articles and 1 book review, with contributors coming from Hong Kong, Turkey, Indonesia, People’s Republic of China, Italy, Australia, Belgium, Norway and Germany. The range of topics moves between teachers and teaching, starting with a proposed pedagogical model for teaching instrumental accompaniment of Cantonese opera (Pai-he) by Sin-yee Ma and Bo-Wah Leung.

In this third issue of 2026, Music Education Research presents nine contributions across a wide range of music educational topics. The issue opens with a focus on educational technologies (Gamze Yavuz Konokman; Di Yu and Qianyan Zhang; Hongdan Wang, Juan Liu, Xiaoli Wang and Musharraf Aziz), before gradually shifting to singing in early childhood (Sari Lehmusketo and Lenita Hietanen; Marta Dosaiguas, Daniela Lerma-Arregoc?s and J?ssica P?rez-Moreno).

In this concluding issue of Volume 27 of Music Education Research, we once again present a rich and diverse collection of contributions, reflecting a broad geographical spread across five continents. Whilst realising Volume 27 has been both challenging and adventurous, marking the transition to the new team of co-editors from issue 4 onwards, we are sincerely grateful for the continued – and at times overwhelming – stream of incoming manuscript submissions from all corners of the world.
