IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Thamerin Balthazar has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the second time this season she's won the award. A 5-foot-6 freshman guard from Alexandria, Louisiana, Balthazar led all scorers with 19 points, hitting three big three-pointers, in a 58-54 win at No. 13 Dallas College Richland.

Cedar Valley Captures DAC Championship

DALLAS – Dallas College Cedar Valley women's basketball team won the Dallas Athletic Conference regular season championship Thursday night with a 58-54 win at Dallas College Richland. The 10th-ranked Suns (12-9, 4-0 DAC) won their ninth straight game, and finished the conference schedule unbeaten. It is Cedar Valley's fourth DAC title in the past five years under head coach Latasha Keith and the sixth in program history.

A 5-foot-6 freshman guard from Alexandria, Louisiana, Balthazar averaged 19 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in a pair of wins for the No. 11-ranked Suns last week.
