Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to share tips and resources for wine and travel lovers.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No but I worked for my college paper. I learned about hard deadlines, and how much I dislike them.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Where to take your kids in Colorado before they grow up. It won an award, my first writing award.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Stay true to the facts.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime via email.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
For infertility drugs. Not sure how that works into travel and wine.
What's your favorite drink?

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Hanging out with my kids.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
People tend to think travel writing is all play and not work. There are great perks but it's still work.
