One of baseball’s greatest “what ifs” got its answer on Wednesday night, and it came straight from the man himself. During the sixth inning of MLB’s 2026 Opening Night matchup between the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees, all-time home run leader Barry Bonds joined the Netflix broadcast booth at Oracle Park and dropped a bombshell that had been kept under wraps for more than three decades. Bonds said he nearly became a Yankee, and the reason he didn’t had nothing to do with money.
