What was your first job as a journalist?
I could tell you about the photojournalism work I did in high school for my yearbook, but my first real job was at my college newspaper.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Luckily I have not.
How is social media changing news?
Social media seems to be enhancing the already problematic tendency of news agencies putting out headlines just to cause a stir.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means seeking the truth and reporting it as accurately as possible.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I take photos with my camera, and I process them with Adobe Lightroom. Those two things are my most valuable tools.
What's your favorite social network?
I have the biggest online presence on Instagram. That's where I post my best photos and connect the most with people on a day to day basis.
Who do you wish followed you?
As an aspiring photographer, I have long looked up to Peter Mckinnon, who is arguably one of the most famous modern photographers.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a photojournalist because I love photography in every form.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
My high school didn't have a newspaper, but I worked a lot with the yearbook team, photographing most of my school's events and portraits.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime.
What's your favorite drink?
As boring as it might seem I'm going to have to say plain water for this one.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outside with my camera.
