Financial firms with the top earnings per share surprises in Q1'26 included Bank of America ($1.11 vs. $1.01), Citigroup ($3.06 vs. $2.65), JPMorgan Chase & Co. ($5.94 vs. $5.47) and Morgan Stanley ($3.43 vs. $3.02), the research firm says.

LPL Still Pushing to Keep 90% of Commonwealth Assets: CEO
NEW LPL Financial Building LPL Financial late Thursday reported first-quarter profits of $356 million, or $4.43 per share — up 12% and 4% respectively from the year-ago period. The broker-dealer also had adjusted earnings per share of $5.60, up 9% year over year. "It was a strong start to the year for LPL," CEO Rich Steinmeier said in a statement.

Loureiro Wealth.com New 640 Wealth.com, a platform focused on the delivery of estate and tax planning, said it raised $65 million Thursday in an oversubscribed Series B funding round. New investors in the artificial intelligence-powered platform include Dynasty Financial Partners, while existing investors like Charles Schwab, Citi Ventures and GV (Google Ventures) also participated.
Modern Wealth Picks Up $1.2B Ex-LPL Group
RIA Modern Wealth Management says it is buying Legacy Wealth Management, a South Florida-based advisory firm working with about $1.2 billion in client assets that was previously affiliated with LPL Financial. The Legacy deal brings Monterey, California-based Modern Wealth its first office in Florida. It's also the RIA's 20th purchase since the firm opened in April 2023. Modern Wealth has close to 20 offices nationwide and over $12 billion in assets.
