The Central Government Real Estate Agency commissioned studio PROTOTYPE and ZENBER Architects to transform the government office at Bezuidenhoutseweg 73 in The Hague, with the aim of creating a modern, flexible and sustainable working climate. The focus was on the Orangerie, where two pavilions were transformed into lively meeting places with improved comfort and sustainability.

Baroeg is unlike any other music venue. For more than forty years, it has nurtured a vibrant subculture of enthusiasts of heavy alternative music. The existing building no longer met contemporary requirements. The challenge was to design a new home that accommodates growth and professionalisation while preserving the unique Baroeg DNA: intense, authentic, raw, direct and welcoming. Living Room for the City: The Renaissance of Hertzberger’s Foyers TivoliVredenburg commissioned us to breathe new life into the historic foyers surrounding Herman Hertzberger’s iconic Main Hall (Grote Zaal). Following the large-scale expansion in 2014, these monumental spaces had fallen into serious neglect. Our mission was twofold: to restore the hall’s visible connection to the city center, and to transform the foyers into an accessible, free-to-enter public living room for Utrecht.

INSEP University housing
The history of the Bois de Vincennes is closely linked to sport. In the 19th century, it was the site of a manoeuvring ground for the infantry. This was followed by a succession of national gymnastics and physical education schools, until the current INSEP was set up in the early 1940s. André Malraux classified the natural site in 1960. Nicolas Borel Nicolas Borel Given the dilapidated state of the campus, a comprehensive restructuring plan was launched in 2004.
Swarthmore College Dining and Community Commons
Designed to rigorous Living Building Challenge standards, Swarthmore College Dining and Community Commons in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania entailed adaptive reuse of an existing dining hall into a community commons and a new 60,000-square-foot dining center where the choice to use mass timber instead of steel elevated the experience for faculty, staff, and students, while saving nearly 300 metric tons of carbon.
Volksbank Mittlerer Neckar
Healthy indoor conditions through modern building technology For the new headquarters of Volksbank Mittlerer Neckar, the general contractor Ed. Züblin AG relied on modern and efficient building services. The technical design was carried out by Keppler + Kähn, who developed an integrated concept to ensure comfortable and energy-efficient indoor conditions.
Marion Performing Arts Center
The Marion High School Auditorium is the fifth addition to Marion Independent School District’s 1962 High School. (1968, 1994, 1993, 2009, 2023). It was a much-anticipated replacement for the 1968 Auditorium and supports the entire MISD community. The new auditorium seats approximately 760 patrons in 23 rows of seats. The 100’ wide x 40’ deep stagehouse has a 50’ by 22’ proscenium opening, and the stage is large enough for 175 student performers.
Belvoir St Theatre
The project refurbishes the public and back‑of‑house areas of Belvoir St Theatre, including the Street Theatre entry corridor, ground floor foyer, and Level 2 spaces. Works included enhanced audience seating, a reconfigured bar, an updated box office and improved amenities, along with minor backstage upgrades to address compliance requirements.
Teatro Nazionale
In the heart of Florence’s historic center, on the corner of Via dei Cimatori and Via dei Cerchi, a few steps from Dante’s House, Piazza della Signoria, and Palazzo Vecchio, stands the Teatro Nazionale: a place with many layers, founded in the 14th century and transformed over the centuries from a reformatory to a hospital, from the Teatro della Quarconia to the Teatro del Giglio, until it took on its current name.

Cornerstone Orchard Auditorium
Cornerstone Auditorium is a conversion from an existing nightclub in a mall into an auditorium used mainly for Christian services. We translated the idea of “Ruach” – the breath of life – into a sculptural interior defined by fluid lines and luminous, expansive volumes. With its users being Pentecostal church members, the design takes inspiration from traditional church vaults and aims to symbolise sacred space where heaven and earth meet.
Russell Investments, Mumbai
Russell Investments, a global investment firm headquartered in Seattle, developed its Mumbai office as a key part of its expanding international network. The project aimed to translate its global identity into a workplace that also responds to its local context. Located along the edge of the Aarey forest, the design draws from its surroundings through both planning and materiality. The spatial layout is organised as a connected system where circulation and interaction are closely integrated.
Penthouse Workspace
The Penthouse Workspace is an executive office on the top floor of the new Parc Pavilion located in the coastal suburb of Cronulla, South Sydney. The project is part of a larger building development designed by Innovate Architects and as the sixth floor Penthouse it is distinct from the commercial floors below.
CO2 neutral Lidl supermarket
Lidl Zero Almere is entirely made of sustainable and circular materials. So is the entire facade of this supermarket! It’s is made of our charred product Marugame. The vertical Marugame boards give the building a silvery glow when the sun shines and at the same time the façade gets a characteristic look because of the texture of the charred layer.

Architecture studio INTERURBAN has completed Villa Jurata, a residential building in the seaside resort town of Jurata on Poland’s Hel Peninsula that reinterprets the tradition of modernist Baltic seaside villas. Located within a pine forest typical of the region, the building was designed to respond to the natural landscape and the architectural character of Jurata, a town shaped by early twentieth-century holiday villas.

EC26 is the comprehensive rehabilitation and extension of an 18th-century residential building in Príncipe Real, Lisbon. The structure was in advanced decay. Collapsed floors, exposed timber beams, prolonged moisture damage and excessive compartmentalisation compromised both stability and habitability. What remained were its proportions: generous ceiling heights, vertical openings, stone frames and metal railings that defined its architectural identity.

Montclair State University | Recreation Center
Two, parallel, single-glazed, 504 Rough Cast channel glass walls wrap the staircase of the university’s recreation center. The resulting curved, double-glazed channel glass wall, set in the I-41 frame system, encloses a color-changing LED lighting system. The programmable LEDs allows combinations of colors to fade in and out in various customizable sequences.
DFS Van Don Airport
A new pavilion for Vietnam’s Van Don Airport recalls the textures of mid-century Modernism and the rocky mountains of nearby Ha Long Bay. Located directly on the departures concourse, one of the main challenges for the pavilion lay in balancing a sense of enclosure with the need for product visibility. Three solid walls which house the back-of-house and display walls form the backbone of the pavilion, while pigmented concrete screen blocks form a visually transparent facade.

Located in the historic center of Florence, within a traditional residential building, the project renovates a compact 36-square-meter apartment. The original configuration, typical of small urban dwellings, offered limited spatial flexibility and struggled to accommodate contemporary living patterns. The intervention rethinks the organization of the domestic space in order to maximize functionality while maintaining a sense of openness and visual continuity.

The ‘Arakishvili’ apartment is located in a densely populated central part of Tbilisi. The daily noise of the city and the rhythm of its fast life can be seen and heard from the windows of the apartment. So, the concept and textures of the interior were designed to ensure that the rhythm of the city does not disturb the coziness of the space.

The clients wanted a spacious apartment, with integrated spaces and light tones. The original property had a balcony, which was integrated into the new living room and enclosed in glass. Although climate adaptation has been strengthened in the Paris Agreement, climate-related risks may exceed adaptation possibilities of communities and countries.
